The war continues
There never seems to be a winner in the battle of good and evil, but the fight continues nonetheless.
The intensity of the battle has reached an all time high on Earth as more villains have emerged and new heroes took up the call to defend order and justice. Even children have been sucked up in the chaos to take up arms and chose a side. Normal citizens on Earth don't understand the gravity of the war around them. They make the warriors into icons. The heroes become trademarks of the city to them, and the villains sometimes idolized. The media eats up every useless bit of information they can about their mascots and the villains they don't take seriously enough and throw it back up in the form of "breaking news". Little do they know that they're only fueling the fire by taking things too lightly. Alliances have been formed. Some to save Earth and others to harm it. The war has been going on for so long that it's become normality, as common to hear about as politics or the weather. Everyone's gotten used to it. Even those fighting. It's simply expected. Little do they know that a great calamity is soon to unfold... |

Alliances
The Sentinels- The largest alliance of heroes on earth, but not the only one. Its HQ is in Pantego.
The Players- Most of the villains rarely play well together, but when they do it's within this organization. Its whereabouts are unknown to most.
The Cruisers- a gang of criminals known for theft and causing mayhem for their own pleasure or amusement.
(If you want to make a new alliance, let me know and I can add it here.)

non-human species
-Maneli- a humanoid alien race that has had colonies on Earth since ancient times. Most of the colonies were located in the Atlantic ocean (they prefer the warmer water there) and they are a primary origin of many mer folk myths. They are capable of assuming a fully human appearance and have reproduced with humans for quite some time while assuming such guises. Their hair and skin come in a multitude of colors unnatural for humans and can their lower bodies often resemble that of serpents or fish. Some simply have legs with fins. Many also have horns. A majority of Maneli are female, but men are not necessarily rare. They can communicate with aquatic life, can survive in both fresh and salt water, and have a fondness for serpents, patterned clothing, and small valuables such as mirrors and jewelry. They are far more advanced technologically than Earth, as they were capable of space travel during Earth's ancient times. The Maneli can sense bodies of water, even quite small ones, and are quite talented with a hydrokinesis like ability. They do not have a native language, as they are capable of telepathy with their own kind just as they are with aquatic life. They do however tend to be fluent in whatever language is nearest to their earth colony, so a colony near Japan would speak Japanese and a colony near Nigeria would probably speak Bantu.
-Kashshaptu- a humanoid race from another plane called Arali. They resemble humans in just about every way, including having groups that resemble ethnicic groups on Earth, except that they have magical abilities. There are two major country-like factions on Arali, the kashshaptu-nam (often called Nam for short) whose homeland is called Nuru and the kashshaptu-dih (Dih for short) whose homeland is Dirga. The native language of Arali is Emeĝir, and its words are not used lightly as every word holds power that human ears cannot properly handly when exposed for long periods of time. When heard by humans it resembles a great rumbling and echo that can be felt in their very core. The Nam have an affinity for magic of order while the Dih have an affinity for magic of chaos. Their names are often as long as sentences, so the Kashshaptu that live on Earth often create a much shorter Earth name for themselves. Arali is a strange place where only half of its world is in light, and the other only in darkness. There is no difference between night and day in terms of lighting, but time does pass there. The Nam reside in the realm of light on Arali, and the Dih the dark. They can have incredibly long lifespans depending on the strength of their magic, but they are still mortal. While Kashshaptu are born with magic, it is an unstable magic for most users when using it by themselves. Reliable and less self-harming magic requires the aid of an outside party, specifically entities of order or chaos whose homeland is Arali, or respectably Nam-Nir or Dih-Nir. The Kashshaptu are compatible with Nir that have similar self interests and ideals and they can form a near permanent mutualistic relationship with each other. The earlier in life a Kashshaptu joins with a Nir, the safer for the Kashshaptu, as prolonged use of their magic without the assistance of a Nir drastically endangers their life.

rules
1. Don't be stupid
2. No godmoding, it's annoying to say the least and not allowed
3. No character's perfect. Your character can't be good at everything without trying etc. A character's flaws, be it their personality, abilities etc. allow for character development and make interesting interactions with other characters, which is the main focus of this site
4. Site owner's word (Mania) is law.
5. Violence can be up to 'R' rating or whatever if you want
6. Swearing is allowed in rp, just don't let it get too excessive. I understand if it's simply your character's way of speaking (i have a few like that too), but don't have them swear everyother word, or every sentence and post. That's just ridiculous.
7. What YOU know and what YOUR CHARACTER know are two separate things. Just because you know the true identity of some great villain or whatever doesn't mean your character does, etc.
8. Drugs, Sex, and anything else I left out that needs a rating is to be kept around a PG-13 level. This ain't the place for your oc's to do the nasty
9. No powerplaying
10. Don't make me add more rules by not using common sense. I don't want to HAVE to put a rule for every little thing that people should know not to do
11. HAVE FUN!~~~~
